Spring softball season has officially started for CUC!
The Cougar softball team left Friday night to fly to Clermont, Florida for our spring opening tournament. The sunny and warm climate that Florida brings is something that our Chicago based team is not very used to. So there was no time to waste, practice was held early Saturday morning to get a taste of the warmth (and real dirt beneath our cleats) before a week long of games. But as soon as practice was over, that left the rest of the day for us, Midwesterners, to see the sun again and soak it all in.
After all the celebrations of making it to Florida, we knew it was time to focus in and get ready for the games we spent all this time preparing for. Sunday morning rolled around and your CUC Cougars were amped to begin this incredible journey set out before them.
Beginning the tournament with two wins against SUNY Fredonia (State University of New York at Fredonia) and Simpson College, the whole team was bouncing off the walls with energy and excitement. With people performing and stepping up to do their job, every player had a hand in helping the team at one point and that got us out with a sweep of the day. Looking ahead, many more amazing moments are to come in these games, and your CUC Cougar softball team couldn’t be anymore excited to pursue forward.
