Concordia University held their first Bingo Night on September 6, 2018 in the Cougar Den from 7:30-10pm. During this event students have the chance to win several prizes ranging from snacks all the way to a Nintendo Switch! This event was made by CAB, the Campus Activity Board created this event a month and a half ago.
Concordia student named Olivia Sobieraj helped plan the event. She wanted to try something different for the University. She said, “This is a new event that we are trying out for the school year. We used our CAB budget to purchase all the prizes, and we will limit one big and one small prize to each winner.”
The Cougar Den was packed full of CUC students during this event. Students were able to come and go as they please. One graduate foreign exchange student, named Kim Hoang, enjoyed coming out. Kim is 24 years old and is from Vietnam. He is studying business at Concordia. It was his first time ever playing Bingo. His family never played before either and he learned how to play for the first time during this event. He really hoped that he would win a nice prize.
“If I were to win any prize on that table I would want the headphones or the Nintendo Switch!” said Hoang.
Other students from China also experienced their first time playing Bingo. They won prizes too! Many students also wanted to win the flat screen TV, so they stayed for the entire game. Olivia wanted to save the best prizes for the end of the event.
Bingo Night at Concordia was a huge success! It brought many students together for fun and great prizes throughout the night. Hopefully CAB will continue having Bingo Night every year!
