Dr. David Rogner who is the head of the English Department was gracious enough to allow The Spectator to interview him for our first Faculty and Staff Spotlight.
Alexis: How long have you been teaching here?
Dr. Rogner: This will be my 30th year teaching at Concordia University.
Alexis: What are your favorite hobbies?
Dr. Rogner: I like going to the theater a lot. Reading, I mean I am a part of the English department. As well as writing poetry.
Alexis: What is your favorite movie?
Dr. Rogner: I have too many, but I would say either Dead Poets Society or Amadeus would be the ones I like the most.
Alexis: What is your favorite kind of food and restaurant?
Dr. Rogner: I love Italian food the most. My favorite restaurant around here is Francesca’s Fiore in Forest Park, IL.
Alexis: What is your favorite book or book series?
Dr. Rogner: I read a lot and you are asking me to choose one. A novel or anything?
Alexis: Any book you have ever read that you like.
Dr. Rogner: Okay then I would say Poetry of Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
Alexis: What is your dream vacation?
Dr. Rogner: To stay on this theme of Italy I would say a trip to Florence and Venice, Italy.
Alexis: Okay, final question. If you could have any animal what would it be?
Dr. Rogner: Easy. I am not a pet person. Am I allowed to say that?
Alexis: Yes you can. We want you to be honest.
Dr. Rogner: Okay, then no pets. I have never had a pet and I have no desire for one.
