“Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” businesses and universities alike are making the change and going green. Concordia university Chicago students and faculty alike are curious as to where their recyclables go after the little blue bin.
Have you ever wondered what happens to your garbage on campus? Some of you may have seen a Roy Strom waste and recycling service truck outside the KCC. WE DO RECYCLE! YAY! But the next question is what exactly is being recycled, Concordia garbage or Sodexo trash?
CUC junior Bryant Brown explains his point of view, “as an RA I know that a lot of my residents separate their garbage into recycling and they even dispose of it properly which is good to see.” Bryant is also a KCC worker “there is a high amount of recycling that gets processed. I think that for the size of our campus we have a good amount of recycling, which reflects well on the university.”
Even our toilets have a green option when flushing! If you’ve ever wondered what the green handle on the toilets on Concordia campus are, it is a way to save water through flushing. This product comes from a company called Sloan Valve. Their main goal is to make the world a greener place, starting in the bathroom.
