Today’s music is dominated by a ridiculous number of artists and bands. It is often hard for new artists and bands to make their mark on pop culture. However, once in a blue moon, an act can skyrocket to the top of the charts almost overnight. One such act is Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats. The band exploded after performing their song “S.O.B” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallen and has been steadily rising in popularity ever since. Based out of Denver, Colorado, the band fits into many different genres, including Folk, Rock, Soul, Gospel, and Indie. Members of the band include the front-runner, Nathaniel Ratliff, along with Andy Wild, Joseph Pope III, Patrick Meese, Mark Shusterman, Luke Mossman, and Wesley Watkins. Nathaniel and the other members have been together for several years, but just recently released their first album on August 21st. This self-titled album broke the Billboard Top 200 at number seventeen, which is quite impressive for an up and coming band. The band has toured with Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers, along with a variety of Denver- based musical acts. The Nighsweats are currently touring the US and will begin their 3rd European tour towards the end of September. However, they will be returning to the states for their biggest tour ever on October 28th. The tour starts in Milwaukee and ends in Denver in December. The most exciting part of the tour happens on Friday, October 30th, when the Nightsweats perform in Chicago at Park West. Many of the shows on this tour were originally set for smaller venues, but due to their increase in popularity, bigger stages had to be set for the band. The 350-seat theater the band planned on performing at in Las Angeles had to be upgraded to the 1,100-seat Regent Theater. This kind of popularity only comes to those who work long and hard to accomplish something amazing, and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats are something amazing.
