We interviewed Dr. Robert Hayes this week and asked him 8 Questions so students can get to know him better during e-learning.
Q: What’s your name?
A: Bob Hayes.
Q: What’s your title?
A: Professor of Political Science and Philosophy.
Q: What are 3 things you cannot live without?
A: An office, WiFi, and a paycheck.
Q: How would you describe CUC to a room full of strangers?
A: A church-related institution that evolved from an undergraduate teachers college for Lutherans to a small comprehensive university that awards degrees in several disciplines through the doctoral level to all kinds of people.
Q: Private jet or private yacht?
A: No need for either, but if forced to chose one, I’d take the jet.
Q: Favorite memory at CUC so far?
A: Can’t say; it’s like being asked to pick a favorite child. There have been many good memories. Going on a few spring tours with the Wind Symphony during the late 80s and early 90s is memorable. Seeing my former students get into and graduate from law school are also happy memories.
Q: Favorite Sodexo meal?
A: I rarely eat there but I recall some pretty good steak dinners served at special events. I also recall that the pizza is not bad either.
Q: What part of your job do you like the most?
A: Seeing students get excited about learning new things and developing a high regard for facts and truth, wherever they may lead.
