Concordia’s softball team came storming out of the gates back to start the 2016 season and has kept rolling through March into April. From the opening game on February 14th through March 31st, the Cougars posted an 11-2 record. During that span, they scored 91 runs and only gave up 46 runs (including four shutouts). Six of those games they scored seven runs or more; three which they scored 14 or more.

Also during that stretch during their Florida spring trip, they went 7-0 and pitched three of their four shutouts. The team through 4/7 boasted an 11-4 record overall. After a little three-game skid to start April, they look to get back on track looking ahead to their next three opponents which include Lakeland College (4/9 DH), Marian University (4/10 DH), and Dominican University (4/13 DH).

Some individual statistics that stand out (through 4/7):

Pitching

Meghan Johnson #22: 3-1 record, 1.78 ERA, 19.2 IP

Alicia Salata #34: 3-0 record, 1.25, 28.0 IP

Julianne Nation #24: 3-2, 1.17, 24.0 IP

Hitting

Allie Bochat #17: .404 average, 3 home runs (leads team) in 15 games started

Stefanie D’Anna #15: .451, 8 RBI in 15 games started

Meghan Johnson #22: .395, 16 RBI (leads team) in 15 games played in.
