Concordia University at Chicago has created a new position for Mission and Ministry. They have selected Rev. Richard Heinz to become the Assistant Vice-President. He graduated from CUC in 1991 and he completed his seminary training at Concordia Seminary Saint Louis in 1995. His wife Kristi also graduated from CUC in 1989. They are proud parents of their son Ben, who is a sophomore at Concordia University at Chicago.
Ever since Heinz has completed his seminary training, he has served as a parish pastor in various leadership positions. He lead a youth ministry organization, Higher Things and also lead positions in Indiana and Northern Illinois districts. He is a dedicated alumni of Concordia and fully understands our mission and strengths. His leadership skills will strengthen our university in multiple ways.
He will be meeting with our church work program directors to help find ways for them to support all their students. He will assist all of us in understanding the doctrinal and ethical positions of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and he will provide catechetical materials in simple, easy to digest formats. He will also assist our undergraduate admissions offices as they work with potential church work students and the foundation as needed.
Stop by and welcome Pastor Heinz in Addison 151C! He will be the central point person and coordinator that keeps everything connected fully with the church. Pastor Heinz will report directly to the Office as the President. His work is distinct from that of our university Pastor and university Deaconess, who will continue to perform their outstanding ministry to the entire Concordia family as well as direct the Pre-Seminary Program.
