As part of their annual Halloween tradition, Six Flags Great America opens its doors for their special Halloween event called Fright Fest. Fright Fest officially opened its doors on September 26th and goes until November 1st.
The park is only open on weekends, so Friday, Saturday and Sunday, hours are listed on the Six Flags website. Six Flags is located in Gurnee Illinois. From Concordia, students can take Expressway I-294 and I-94. Don’t have a car? If you live in the Rosemont or Schaumburg area you can also take the PACE bus there and back.
Fright Fest includes a series of haunted trails, Halloween themed rides, and what they call a Witching hour. Around 4 o’clock everyday is witching hour, which means people dressed up in costume walk around and a full blown haunted house all over the park begins.
Single visit tickets are $35 at the gate. Keep seeing coke cans with a six flags promotion on them? Guess what, you can use those and get a discount at the entrance. Or $65 for a season pass. College student Kathleen Burke buys a season pass every summer. “By the time I go there three times throughout the summer, it makes buying the pass worth it. And of your smart about know where to look you can also find coupons that get you free parking”.
