Spring Break is less than a week away and the Concordia music department is making its final preparations for their annual spring tours. For the Kapelle group, they will be touring in much warmer weather in Florida.

Kapelle will be leaving Chicago for Florida early on Friday morning and are set to return Saturday the 12th. During their nine-day venture in the Sunshine State, they will have seven performances which start in Summerfield at Trinity Lutheran Church on the Friday they arrive. They will perform six straight days until their off day on Thursday and then wrap up their tour in Orlando at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Other tour destinations during that week include Winter Haven, Plant City, Naples and Sarasota before ending in Orlando. Since they will be touring to new places each day, they will not be staying in hotels, but in the homes of people who have volunteered to host them.

Concordia Senior and Kapelle member, Chris Milz, is looking forward to his last spring tour.

“It will be very bitter sweet”, Milz said, “I have been part of this for two years, but I cannot imagine how emotional it will be for the seniors who have done this since they were freshman.”

While talking about the venues they will be performing at, Chris talked about some of the crowds they will perform in front of.

“Some [churches] have over a few-hundred seats, so we will see some big crowds. I heard one is paid admission, so if that is the case then that will be really exciting.”

After tour, Kapelle will have their final home concert on March 19th at 7:30 PM in the Chapel of our Lord. Further details on the Spring Tour venues can be seen here.
