As the week (Friday, March 15th, 2019) comes to a close for the CUC (Concordia University Chicago) softball team, there are new memories to look back on, things to learn from, and a lot to be proud of.

The lady cougars finished the week with seven wins and three loses. This is an improvement from their previous Florida record of six wins and four loses.

The team found out who we really are this week. The week started with two of our key players becoming ill and being unable to play. This forced the team to adapt. Players had to play where they usually don’t, and there were some players who didn’t get a lot of breaks.

Not having two key players is hard, but the lady Cougars fought through this and stepped up to fill spots that were empty. All of our hard work in practice for the past six weeks showed on the field. The competition was tough, but we fought hard and played well. This was the second time the team has played all together, and fans can tell that we have something special with this team.

The new memories will last for a lifetime, and our three seniors will remember this as their last trip to Florida playing for CUC. The team can learn from our mistakes and adjust in the coming games. Overall, there is a lot to be proud of. This team can come together to win games as well as come together off the field and have fun. Team 7 taking on Florida was a success.
