Mission week took place throughout the week of February 5th to February 9th. Chapel concluded outside at the “Triangle” on February 6, 2018. Pastor Leininger said many prayers around the fire. He emphasized on peace, equity, and freedom for our country. This event was during Missions week and it was called the Peace Fire. It was held from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Throughout the whole day there was fresh hot chocolate for students to enjoy. Several people went outside to pray for peace around this fire. They prayed for peace in our country, other nations, and in our home life. At 12:30 pm Deaconess Kim Blackwell lead in prayer. At 1pm the National Lutheran Outdoor Ministry Association lead in prayer around the fire. Near the end of this event students from the Global Lutheran Outreach, Andrew Tompson and Ben McCrimmon ended the Peace Fire in prayer. Praying for peace at the peace fire raised a lot of awareness around campus.
