Every year Campus Activity Board (CAB), led by President Olivia Sobieraj and Vice-President Chloe Hrabusicky, plan the Spring Formal. Planning begins in October with the search for a venue.
Established in 1996, the Spring Formal was originally held on a boat named the Odyssey in Chicago. Each year, the venue changes, with the 2017 formal being at the Field Musuem.
“We are planning on increasing this number by making sure the Formal is on a day that has the least amount of Athletic Activities, so far nobody has games on days we are looking at,” said Hrabusicky.
“Students attendance depends on where the location of the Formal is, some commuters don’t attend if it is far from their home,” said Sobieraj.
CUC provides a free bus service that brings the students to the venue from campus. Last year, tickets went on sale for $40 each. Each year, the price of tickets may go up as the event nears.
