Pixel Perfection?
In the sea of smartphone news, from the Samsung Note 7 exploding, to the controversial changes the iPhone 7 has to offer, comes something new. On October 4th, 2016, Google announced their newest flagship device: Pixel.
8 Years ago, Google revolutionized the mobile market by launching Android, one of the two biggest mobile operating systems on the market. With the announcement of the Pixel, Google hopes to revolutionize the industry yet again.
The Pixel comes in a 5.0” and 5.5” display, and comes in three colors; Quite Black, Really Blue and Very Silver.

Features include a 12.3MP camera, a charging feature that fully charges the device in 15 minutes, as well as launching with Android 7.1 Nougat.
How does Google plan to change the market with the Pixel?
Two words: Google Assistant.
Google Assistant is a new software that many will compare to the iPhone’s Siri. It will allow you to flawlessly integrate the features Google’s many bits of software has into your everyday life just by speaking. You can schedule appointments, search for anything through Google’s search engine, and even ask for directions to a place your friend texts you.
Compared to Google’s previous smartphone line, Nexus, Pixel aims to integrate every nook and cranny the company has to offer. From the latest hardware to every bit of Google software, (search engine, Play apps, and Android VR), the Pixel is a mobile manifestation of vertical integration.
The device will also launch unlocked, meaning you can bring the device to any carrier, including Google’s network Project Fi.
The Pixel is available for pre-order today at $649. It will launch October 20th.
