Faculty and Staff Spotlight. Dr. Rogner

Dr. David Rogner who is the head of the English Department was gracious enough to allow The Spectator to interview him for our first Faculty and Staff Spotlight.
Alexis: How long have you been teaching here?
Dr. Rogner: This will be my 30th year teaching at Concordia University.
Alexis: What are your favorite hobbies?
Dr. Rogner: I like going to the theater a lot. Reading, I mean I am a part of the English department. As well as writing poetry.
Alexis: What is your favorite movie?
Dr. Rogner: I have too many, but I would say either Dead Poets Society or Amadeus would be the ones I like the most.
Alexis: What is your favorite kind of food and restaurant?
Dr. Rogner: I love Italian food the most. My favorite restaurant around here is Francesca’s Fiore in Forest Park, IL.
Alexis: What is your favorite book or book series?
Dr. Rogner: I read a lot and you are asking me to choose one. A novel or anything?
Alexis: Any book you have ever read that you like.
Dr. Rogner: Okay then I would say Poetry of Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
Alexis: What is your dream vacation?
Dr. Rogner: To stay on this theme of Italy I would say a trip to Florence and Venice, Italy.
Alexis: Okay, final question. If you could have any animal what would it be?
Dr. Rogner: Easy. I am not a pet person. Am I allowed to say that?
Alexis: Yes you can. We want you to be honest.
Dr. Rogner: Okay, then no pets. I have never had a pet and I have no desire for one.
