Rockford, IL. The 2015 Concordia Cougars season wrapped up this past Saturday with a 26-7 loss to Rockford University (3-7). The Cougars finished the season 2-8 record, not qualifying for the playoffs. This was Coach Awrey’s third years as Concordia head coach who has an overall record of 5-23.

The Cougars had a very solid defensive game in the first half, only allowing Rockford to score once at the 11:21 mark of the first quarter. The Cougars then tied the game in the 3rd quarter on a Rob Granquist 61-yard touchdown throw to Leroy Bridges. Rockford then responded with 19 unanswered points to seal the victory and close out the season.

QB Rob Granquist played the whole game, finishing with 23-39-0 passing, 209 yards and a touchdown pass. Jakari Cammon led the way in rushing with 76 yards.

With the season over, the football program can now start preparations for next season as they work on recruiting new players and continue to rebuild the team.
