Potter mentioned she was first introduced to 2D Design at her high school. The department really impacted the person she has become. Potter described how those experiences truly molded her into the woman she is today, where she described her high school, “set a good stepping stone for my interests in the arts.”

The unique thing about Potter is that she is not studying the arts. Instead, she uses it as an escape. In her free time, Potter enjoys partaking in artistic adventures where she is able to let her creativity run wild. Currently, Potter is working towards her MBA with specializations in Sports Management and Digital Marketing. Through digital marketing, she still has the ability to access her creative side.

Potter’s first degree came from Knox College, where she studied the sciences — Biology and Psychology. However, after trial and error, Potter wanted to continue her interests in the athletics field. Due to her previous experiences and love for sports, she decided to continue studying Sports Management. This way, Potter was able to connect her previous roots with her love for the arts. It is a win-win.

After a couple of years out of the arts, Potter craved a creative opportunity. And that is when the Concordia College of Business sent out an email looking for an eager individual to create a brand new CougarTank logo. Potter mentioned how she has not been able to “create anything in a while,” so she mentioned “it was a good way to get myself back out there creatively.” Because the previous logo has been used for two years, the CUC College of Business decided it was time for a new one.

Being inspired to create a new design, Potter took into consideration the CougarTank competition needed “a new design that was more powerful, while still implementing the core values” of CUC.

Written by Destiny Henschel Morgan Potter, originally from Huntington Beach, California, is the 2020 CougarTank logo contest winner.
