The radio waves will be filled with new and familiar voices throughout the week. Joel Krenz, a member of WCGR Executive board, trained many newcomers to the radio studio this past week. One of the new shows coming to air this semester is “Got It” with Madison Rametta, in which she will be giving advice on how to survive college. She will also be playing music from most student’s childhoods, including hits from the early 2000’s. Another new show is A&J, hosted by Jason Slusher and Alex B. They will be covering sports, both college and professional, with plans to talk about the upcoming Olympics.

Caleb Dehning and Paul Springer are back on the air with their show, CUCinema. Like semesters past, they will be playing scores and soundtracks from movies across the decades, including new movies that have come out in the past year. Another experienced voice that is back on the schedule this semester is Collin Sugg, with The Collin Show. If you have yet to tune into his hour, he often has guests from campus join in on fun conversations and topic that most millennials relate to. Along with this, Collin loves to play classic rock, blues, and country music genres. For more information on the dates and times for radio shows, check out WCGR’s Facebook page.

WCGR is also taking on a new task of filming a story scripted by Concordia’s own Ajay Joseph. The story is called “Moving On”, and it focuses around a girl who is contemplating a relationship. Joseph says that the story is “teaching the lesson about toxic people causing problems, and how to keep moving forward without the drama”. Concordia students will take part in acting, filming, and editing the story, with a hope of showing it as a screening later in the semester. Along with the new project, WCGR will be filming monthly news shoots. Concordia students will be gathering news from campus and the surrounding communities.

If you are interested in joining WCGR, there is still time to get involved this semester!
