Concordia University Chicago has recently come up with an Odyssey Community here at CUC. If you are unfamiliar with the Odyssey and what they do, check out their website: Odyssey Online<\/a> . The Odyssey is a social networking site for writers to share their ideas and spread them across the nation. As some of you may see on your facebook, there are certain articles that go viral and may become shared by hundreds of people on your timeline. There are other sites that aim to achieve the same goal as the Odyssey such as Buzzfeed or Thought Catalog.<\/p>\n

We are able to have our own Odyssey community at CUC thanks to Senior, Emily Longman. Longman wrote a few articles for the Spectator, and a specialist up at the Odyssey headquarters in New York, loved her writing and decided to have her lead our own community here at Concordia.<\/p>\n

Our community is pretty small as of right now, but we are looking to expand our team and welcome writers to share their ideas with the world. I am currently one of the contributing editors with our CUC community and I am looking for people that would be committed and passionate about writing for us.<\/p>\n

In a nutshell, our writers are given creative freedom; they are allowed to write anything they feel they would like to share – from poems, listicles, rants, short stories, open letters, and anything else our creative minds can think of. There is a weekly deadline, on Friday at midnight, to submit some sort of content to our online site. This may seem demanding, but when given such freedom, thinking of something you want to talk about every week comes easily.<\/p>\n
