I am sure there are a lot of you who have read about Egypt and the amazing Pyramids that are there. Perhaps, there are some who have always dreamed of visiting this wonderful place\u00a0but have not had the opportunity to do so yet. \u00a0We are fortunate enough to have Ahmed Montasser, who is from Egypt, share with us a little about his home in order for us to gain more knowledge.<\/p>\n

Before we begin to learn more about his country, I wanted to know what brought Montasser to Concordia University Chicago.<\/p>\n

“Concordia University Chicago is a great university to pursue my MBA because it has more than 150-years history of bringing higher education to the world. The MBA program was very comprehensive mixing the academic and the practical knowledge. Moreover, doing the MBA in Concordia will help me to get the global experience which we need nowadays. And finally, Chicago is the third largest city in the United States and is full of opportunities.”<\/p>\n

Chicago is known as the city with many opportunities so Montasser’s answer is very fitting. If you were wondering, there are around 82 million people who live in Egypt and roughly 3 million who live in Chicago. So there is no size comparison when it comes to Chicago and Egypt.<\/p>\n

In order to get to know Montasser’s country a little better, the next question I asked him about was what his country was known for.<\/p>\n

“Egypt is famous and known for its ancient monuments, such as the Pyramids, Sphinx and Saqqara.”<\/p>\n

I am sure many of you have seen pictures of the Pyramids and the Sphinx, but could you imagine being able to see it in person? I bet it is absolutely breath taking. There were a lot of other interesting things that Egypt is known for. Other interesting facts include, having the largest Arabic population in the world, Ancient Egyptians forged one of the earliest peace treaties on record, and Ancient Egyptians loved board games!<\/p>\n

Egypt is a beautiful place with an unlimited amount of history.<\/p>\n

I can only imagine what it would be like to visit his wonderful country one day. I hope all of us will be able to learn more about its history and culture. Do not be afraid to look for more information about the places that you may want to visit one day.<\/p>\n

Montasser wanted to leave us with some\u00a0helpful advice on how to enjoy our time in his country!<\/p>\n

“\uf0b7 Plan your trip very well. \uf0b7 Make sure that you listed the great places that you will visit. \uf0b7 Make sure that the taxi uses a meter counter or ask about the price before getting into the car. \uf0b7 You need to be aware that your Egyptian friends may not eat pork or drink alcohol. \uf0b7 Make new friends and enjoy every moment.”<\/span><\/p>\n
