Dr. David Rogner who is the head of the English Department\u00a0was gracious enough to allow The Spectator to interview him for our first Faculty and Staff Spotlight.<\/p>\n
Alexis: How long have you been teaching here?<\/p>\n
Dr. Rogner: This will be my 30th year teaching at Concordia University.<\/p>\n
Alexis: What are your favorite hobbies?<\/p>\n
Dr. Rogner: I like going to the theater a lot. Reading, I mean I am a part of the English department. As well as writing poetry.<\/p>\n
Alexis: What is your favorite movie?<\/p>\n
Dr. Rogner: I have too many, but I would say either Dead Poets Society<\/em> or Amadeus<\/em> would be the ones I like the most.<\/p>\n Alexis: What is your favorite kind of food and restaurant?<\/p>\n Dr. Rogner: I love Italian food the most. My favorite restaurant around here is Francesca’s Fiore<\/em> in Forest Park, IL.<\/p>\n Alexis: What is your favorite book or book series?<\/p>\n Dr. Rogner: I read a lot and you are asking me to choose one. A novel or anything?<\/p>\n Alexis: Any book you have ever read that you like.<\/p>\n Dr. Rogner: Okay then I would say Poetry of Samuel Taylor Coleridge.<\/p>\n Alexis: What is your dream vacation?<\/p>\n Dr. Rogner: To stay on this theme of Italy I would say a trip to Florence and Venice, Italy.<\/p>\n Alexis: Okay, final question. If you could have any animal what would it be?<\/p>\n Dr. Rogner: Easy. I am not a pet person. Am I allowed to say that?<\/p>\n Alexis: Yes you can. We want you to be honest.<\/p>\n Dr. Rogner: Okay, then no pets.
