There is more to Chicago then what we are aware of, or what we typically think of when describing to someone what we can do in Chicago.\u00a0When naming these attractions in Chicago, that can range from Millennium Park to Navy Pier. The rest of places fall into the shadows of others, or are simply forgotten. Yet, there are equally as interesting places in Chicago that lie within the popular ones, like the Hoosier Mama Pie Company, Oz Park, Promontory Point and Myopic Bookstore.<\/p>\n

Hoosier Mama Pie Company<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong>open Tuesdays-Sundays,\u00a0is located at 1618 1\/2 Chicago Avenue. With a 4.5 star rating on Yelp<\/a>, with multiple reviews on The Key Lime, Maple Pecan,\u00a0and Lemon Chess, and its cozy atmosphere, it\u2019s a place that\u2019s hard to pass up.<\/p>\n

\"OzParkChicago\"<\/a>

Oz Park,<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong> (opened in 1974) is\u00a0located in Lincoln Park (2021 N Burling St, Chicago) and it\u2019s a twist on your typical playground. The park features the characters from \u201cThe Wizard of Oz\u201d such as the Dorothy Sculpture with Toto, the Scarecrow sculpture, the Tin Man,\u00a0and the Cowardly Lion. Besides these sculptures the park also includes a community garden known as The Emerald Gardens, tennis courts, basketball courts, fields, and soccer and football fields.<\/p>\n

Promontory Point<\/strong><\/a> in Burnham Park is located on 5491 S. Shore Drive between Grant Park and Jackson Park. The Promontory Point is a tower that overlooks the Chicago skyline, and bike trails.<\/p>\n

Myopic Bookstore<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is located on 1564 N. Milwaukee Ave. Celebrating its 25th Birthday, it holds a large collection of used books of a variety of topics. This bookstore consists of two floors consisting of books. Open seven days a week, it\u2019s a great place to go to avoid the noise and dive into a good book, since it does have its cell phone free policy.<\/p>\n
